Meet New Board Member: Rebecca D’Amico
Rebecca D’Amico is Chief of Staff to the CEO & Vice President of Strategy for the Blue Cross Blue Shield Association (BCBSA), a national federation of independent, community-based, and locally operated Blue Cross and Blue Shield (BCBS) companies.
D’Amico helps drive the CEO’s priorities for the Association, including aligning organizational efforts to achieve corporate goals that support the BCBS companies and those they serve. She also helps advance the Blues' Systemwide strategy to shape a high-quality, affordable, equitable healthcare system nationwide.
Previously, D’Amico led several areas across BCBSA, including research, intelligence, strategy, and B2B marketing, allowing her to draw connections across business goals and market dynamics for BCBSA and local BCBS companies.
Before joining BCBSA in 2013, D’Amico worked as a management consultant in the healthcare industry, focusing on regional health plan business strategies.
She received a bachelor’s degree in healthcare management and policy (cum laude) from Georgetown University in Washington, D.C., and a master’s degree in public policy from the University of Chicago Harris School.
Over the past eight years, D’Amico has led several teams—research, insights and intelligence, and strategy— allowing her to draw connections across various aspects of development and decision-making at BCBSA. In her current position, D’Amico leads a team that informs the strategic discussions of the Board of Directors to serve the collective needs of 35 BCBS Plans nationwide. Prior to BlueCross Blue Shield, she was a Management Consultant for HealthScape Advisor in Chicago. Managed project teams focused on health reform and business development initiatives for commercial health plans; provided analytical and process improvement support to carriers navigating federal contract requirements and bids. She lives in Cleveland, Ohio.
